Explore balancing upside down in this session dedicated to preparing for and practising inversions

 

Inversions can be great fun to practise but can feel overwhelming in a regular class context or perhaps like there isn't enough time to give them a go if they're new to you!

Being upside down can help you to feel stimulated, refreshed, uplifted and focused. Inversions are great for challenging both body and mind and are a wonderful way to help build confidence and trust within.

The session will begin by warming up the body through vinyasa (flow) inspired yoga to prepare for inversions such as headstand (sirsasana), forearm stand (pincha mayurasana) and handstand (adho mukha vrksasana). We will explore preparatory poses and variations to enter the postures efficiently and safely with proper alignment, as well as how to exit them safely.

Elements of strength, lightheartedness and fun will be interwoven in this session as you see life from a different perspective!

All levels of experience are welcome; we'll build on various layers of the inversions and you'll choose a version that feels best for your practise now, as well as learn how to progress in the future.

This session is not suited to those with glaucoma, head or neck injuries or high blood pressure.

This workshop will take place at Hush Yoga in Horsham.
